I was a customer many years ago using basically the same program only with Microsoft Excel. I built Estimator Buddy with LibreOffice Calc, it's free and works just as well. I estimated and sold about a million a year, making good money for about 18 years. This product worked great for me and I think if you set it up properly It will for you. This is the beginning of Estimator Buddy's help. Perhaps you've noticed that the top nine rows are always visible. This works well for many reasons, but especially for the help. As you scroll down and read the help, you can see most of the relevant fields at the same time. This should help considerably learning our landscaping estimate software.
This is a Practice Estimator Buddy bid displaying a hypothetical job, ready for printing the Estimator's copy. It shows all the generated information from the estimation process. It will accommodate up to three pages of items, likely exceeding the number you will need for any single job and focuses on relevant information only. The other three sheets, which is the Customer, Field and Vendor printouts only show pertinent information as well. Good luck with your landscaping bidding software process.

Easily add new hyperlinks to navigate to your items. This could include materials and labor or just labor needed to install plantings, patios, irrigation, walls, lights, decks, out door kitchens, pretty much anything you do.
You should lean how to customize Estimator Buddy like it was built just for your business. This is the advantage of a spreadsheet. This is what I did! Make it yours, own it!

Notice how the "About Program Colors" are defined, then see how this is helpful understanding the importance of the different colors in the top nine rows and later throughout the program if you choose to buy.
This help file pertains to Estimator Buddy's use along with some OpenOffice Calc basic knowledge. However, Calc has a great help file and when it comes time to construct proposals, etc I have found Google's AI to be excellent. Simply explain what you are building using OpenOffice Calc and I think you will be very pleased.

Keep in mind the lightest of the "three colors" is the only area you will need to enter numbers or job info into while estimating a job. This makes estimating so quick!
If you want Estimator Buddy to be the last estimating software you will probably ever need to buy, be sure to set it up accurately. I would run it by a CPA especially for labor and material markups. Many years ago I didn't do this and went out of business in 5 years. Before starting a whole new company I bought my first computer along with Excel and took four months off working daily.
